The main goal of the study program in the specialization "Pedagogy" is to prepare highly qualified specialists with higher education who possess the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies to work in the education system and to meet the needs of modern society.Graduates of the specialization "Pedagogy" with an educational and qualification level of "Bachelor" can pursue their professional careers in all types of educational institutions in the Republic of Bulgaria. They are prepared to carry out basic pedagogical activities, including teaching, upbringing, organizational-management, and methodological activities, as well as to perform functions related to the organization and management of the educational process.

In the specialization "Pedagogy," the Engineering-Pedagogical Faculty in Sliven offers its students a solid fundamental, pedagogical, psychological, and broad practical training. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of modern schools, educational, and upbringing institutions for highly qualified pedagogical staff. An extended language training is provided through the study of two foreign languages, tailored to the students' needs for more effective implementation in the educational process, scientific research activities, and international exchange and mobility programs.

Graduates of the specialization "Pedagogy" can:

organize, conduct, analyze, and advise on educational and upbringing activities;
effectively implement pedagogical communication;
plan, organize, and conduct pedagogical, socio-pedagogical, and diagnostic research;
provide professional counseling and guidance for young learners, teachers, parents, and adults within their own qualification scope;
resolve disputes and conflicts and work with at-risk groups, minorities, and ethnic communities.

For the specialty "Pedagogy", applications are submitted with:

state maturity exam in Bulgarian language and literature, and/or
state maturity exam in history, and/or
state maturity exam in philosophical cycle, and/or
state maturity exam by geography, and/or
state maturity exam by foreign language, and/or
test in Bulgarian language and literature.

The curriculum and course syllabi are developed in accordance with contemporary requirements for higher education, European educational standards, and best practices of leading universities in the country and abroad. Students acquire knowledge and skills in:

- fundamental theoretical and pedagogical disciplines: pedagogical and developmental psychology, theory of upbringing, theory of teaching, special education, inclusive education, skills for working in a digital environment, use of information and communication technologies, foreign languages, etc.;

- specialized and interdisciplinary disciplines: pedagogical ethics, pedagogical rhetoric, psychology of communication, school hygiene and health education, etc.;

- practical disciplines that form professional-pedagogical qualities: observation, current and internship practice.

Graduates of the specialization can work as:

pedagogical consultants, school mediators;
educators in all educational institutions, in institutions of "closed type" (boarding schools, homes for children and adolescents, children's health facilities, dormitories), inspectors in children's pedagogical rooms (after the corresponding additional professional training);
pedagogical organizers in the system of extracurricular activities, including in centers for work with children;
collaborators in public and cultural organizations and institutions with educational functions: community centers, youth and cultural houses and clubs, etc.;
managerial positions in regional inspectorates and municipal structures.
