The Faculty of "Electronics and Automation" (FEA) was founded in 1986.
Over the past years, as a result of the activity and efforts of the faculty members, staff, students, and with the support of Plovdiv's industry, a modern material base has been established at the faculty, and highly qualified faculty members have grown and developed. These conditions provide a good foundation for the faculty to ensure modern, quality education for its graduates, bachelor and master engineers, in some of the fastest-growing engineering specialties.
Currently, around 1000 students and doctoral candidates are studying at FEA. Foreign students from Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Macedonia, Nigeria, and others are also enrolled.
FEA maintains active international contacts with universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Greece, Turkey, and others. Faculty members from FEA visit these universities as lecturers and researchers, and students spend part of their studies within the Socrates-Erasmus program.
The Faculty of Electronics and Automation is home to four departments:
- Department of “Computer Systems and Technologies”;
- Department of “Electrical Engineering”;
- Department of “Control Systems”;
- Department of “Electronics”.
The faculty offers programs in some of the fastest-growing engineering fields across three professional areas:
- “Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Automation”
- “Computer and Communication Engineering”
- “General Engineering.”
