The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1951 and is one of the successors of the Mechanical Faculty of the former State Polytechnic.
The faculty has a total of six departments: "Automation of Discrete Production", "Engineering Logistics and Lifting-Transport and Construction Equipment", "Engineering Design", "Precision Engineering and Instrumentation", "Fundamentals and Technical Means for Design", and "Machine Elements and Non-metallic Structures".
Bachelors can choose their studies in one of the four specialties:
- Mechanical Engineering,
- Mechatronics,
- Engineering Design,
- Engineering Logistics.
Students have access to a rich laboratory and research material base - instruments for measuring geometric and physico-mechanical quantities; optical, fine-mechanical and micromechanical equipment. Young specialists learn on special automatic lines, computer laboratories for automated design, a training complex-integrated production system, a laboratory of engineering logistics and equipment, and laboratories for design projects.
