The Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies (FEET) was established in 1987 as the successor to the Faculty of Radioelectronics.
The mission of FEET is to prepare highly qualified engineers in the field of electronics and automotive electronics, who are competitive in the national and international labor market and capable of meeting the challenges of rapidly developing technologies, while simultaneously creating and implementing innovative engineering solutions.
The Faculty maintains active partnerships with businesses and state institutions, conducts scientific research and applied research activities, and creates conditions for modern engineering education in the field of classical and the latest directions in electronics.
A strategic goal is the establishment of FEET as a leading national center for electronics training, by improving the quality of the educational process, expanding the scope of offered educational services, enhancing opportunities for independent research work by students, as well as expanding contacts with foreign universities for conducting joint courses and issuing joint diplomas with EU and Balkan countries.
The educational process at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies is conducted in four departments:
• "Electronic Engineering" (established in 1962)
• "Power Electronics" (established in 1972)
• "Microelectronics" (established in 1982)
• "Chemistry" (established in 1976) – engaged in the general education of all first-year students at the Technical University – Sofia.
The departments of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies carry out educational, scientific research, and administrative activities for one discipline or a group of related disciplines.
Each department is headed by an elected head, who, together with the Department Council, organizes and coordinates its activities. The head is responsible for the effective management and use of the material and technical base, ensures and controls the quality of the educational process, and supports the professional development of academic staff, students, and administrative personnel.
The Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies conducts active scientific research, which in recent years has shown sustainable development. The Faculty is the organizer of the annual international conference "Electronics," held in the town of Sozopol – an established scientific forum for the presentation of researchers, teachers, specialists, and students in the field of electronics, microelectronics, and industrial engineering. By tradition, the conference attracts leading scientists and researchers from around the world and is recognized by the international Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – a testament to its high scientific reputation.
