The Department of "Transport and Aviation Engineering and Technologies" (TAET) was established in 1995 under the name Department of "Mobile Military Equipment", including the specialties: "Tracked and Wheeled Machines" (later – "Transport Engineering and Technologies") and "Operation and Maintenance of Aviation Equipment" (later – "Aviation Engineering and Technologies"). Since 2004, it has been renamed to "Transport and Aviation Engineering and Technologies".
The Department has full accreditation for training at the educational and qualification levels of "Bachelor" and "Master" in the specialties "Transport Engineering and Technologies", "Road Transport Engineering" and "Aviation Engineering and Technologies".
TAET Department is equipped with a high-performance computer class connected to the branch server, high-speed internet, and software products (MSDN - Microsoft package, SolidWorks, NX3, SolidEdge, MATLAB). The laboratories are equipped with modern models, educational stands, and instruments for conducting laboratory and practical sessions. Of particular interest is the aerodynamic laboratory, equipped with an aerodynamic tunnel, which allows for various scientific and laboratory experiments. A characteristic feature of TAET Department is the high methodological and scientific qualification of the teaching staff, as well as the established style and traditions for guaranteed quality of education.
In addition to the premises located on the branch territory, the department uses for educational and research activities the Bosch service center in Plovdiv and the service center of SAE Ltd. – Plovdiv; the material and technical base of TEREEM "G.
