The Faculty of Economics is one of the most prestigious, innovative, and rapidly developing faculties of the Technical University – Sofia. It was established in 1991 to meet the business needs for highly qualified specialists in the field of economics and management with enhanced training in industrial and information technologies.
The training at the Faculty of Economics is based on long-standing traditions and the new opportunities provided by the Technical University – Sofia. The curricula and programs under which students are trained have been developed with the assistance of leading European and world universities and successfully combine economic, managerial, and engineering disciplines. The academic staff of the Faculty of Economics is highly qualified with numerous specializations at world universities. The faculty maintains active international contacts with universities from Europe, America, Asia, and Australia.
Active research is carried out here – the scientific journal "Industrial Management" is published; international scientific conferences are organized and held annually: "Management and Engineering", "E-Management and E-Communications", an international youth conference with the participation of established scientists "Engineering Infrastructure and Competitive Business". The teachers are among the main lecturers in the theoretical seminar "Man – the measure of all things? Challenges of the post-industrial information society".
The Faculty of Economics is an active member of the "Association of Teachers of Economics and Management in Industry" and of the Scientific-Technical Union of Mechanical Engineering.
Three separate departments are available to students within the Faculty of Economics:

- "Legal and Humanities Sciences"
- "Management and Business Information Systems"
The Faculty of Economics offers abachelor's degree in the following specialties:

The master's program is by specialty in professional field 5.13. "General Engineering":

- Management in Electrical Engineering

- Technological Entrepreneurship
The other professional field is 3.7. "Administration and Management"

- Students are also offered training in Higher Management in distance learning.
- A new specialty is Intellectual Property and Innovations.
Training in the specialties of the Faculty of Economics is conducted in Bulgarian and English.
Doctoral training is carried out in the specialties of professional direction 3.7. "Administration and Management":

Doctoral students can also be trained in professional field 5.13. "General Engineering":

All specialties are accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation with the highest rating "Very Good".
Graduates of the Faculty of Economics have successful careers in various fields of economic and public life. Our alumni hold senior and middle management positions in small, medium, and large enterprises, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
