During his studies, the Bachelor's degree student in the specialty "Automotive Engineering" acquires knowledge and skills that will enable him to:

solve engineering problems using modern methods and tools, as well as the latest achievements in the fields of automotive engineering and mechanical engineering and technology;
design, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles with the help of modern computer-aided design and manufacturing preparation systems;
use and develop technical documentation in accordance with the requirements of European and international standards;
model and analyze parts, components, systems, and assemblies in the field of automotive engineering using computer technology and specialized software;
plan and ensure operation, maintenance, and repair activities, including computer-controlled ones, for automotive vehicles;

What will I learn?

During their studies, students receive a strong fundamental and general engineering education necessary for a classical mechanical engineer: mathematics, physics, materials science, mechanics, strength of materials, machine elements, thermal engineering, hydro- and gas dynamics, as well as in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, informatics, and mechanical engineering technology.

Students also study a number of specialized disciplines through which they acquire knowledge and skills in the field of automotive technology:

theory, design, and engineering of automotive vehicles: internal combustion engines, automotive technology (cars, buses, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, and others);
dynamics, strength, and reliability of automotive vehicles;
technologies for manufacturing, maintenance, repair, testing, and diagnostics of automotive vehicles;
technologies for organizing the operation of transport vehicles and road transport, as well as interaction with other types of transport.

The Mechanical Engineering major in the specialty "Automotive Engineering" with an educational and qualification degree of "Bachelor" is prepared for professional implementation as:

designer, technologist, marketing and service specialist in companies with production, design and consulting activities related to the application and use of automotive equipment;
sales representative, distributor and advertising agent for automotive products and machinery, production equipment and specialized software for design and production in automotive transport;
teacher in secondary schools and specialized training centers in disciplines directly or indirectly related to automotive transport and related fields.

The Mechanical Engineering major in the specialty "Automotive Engineering" can be implemented in managerial and executive positions requiring an educational and qualification level of "bachelor" and a professional qualification of "mechanical engineer" in the fields of production, services, trade, advertising, education, and public administration, as well as to develop their own business.

The mechanical engineer and bachelor of "Automotive Engineering" can enhance their professional qualification by continuing their education at the "master" level in Bulgarian and foreign universities.
