The Department of Materials Science and Materials Technology conducts training with specialized disciplines for students in the bachelor's and master's study programs of the specialization "Mechanical Engineering and Technologies" and in the bachelor's study programs of the specialization "Computer-Aided Design and Technologies in Mechanical Engineering".
The department conducts training in the discipline "Materials Science and Materials Technology" for students from the Faculty of Automation, Electrical Engineering Faculty, Energy and Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Transport. Its lecturers teach courses in the German-language program and in the English-language program.
The department's research work is focused on problems related to the creation of new, high-efficiency materials; studying the behavior of materials under thermal and mechanical influence; and developing effective metalworking technologies.
