The College was established by Council of Ministers Decree No. 16 of 27.01.1997 – Art. 1, Annex 1, item 12 as the United Technical College within the structure of the Technical University – Sofia. By Order No. 1075 of 01.04.2008 of the Rector of TU-Sofia, in implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council (protocols No. 9/2007 and No. 3/2008), it was renamed to the College of Energy and Electronics.
In 2022 by Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 136 of 23.06.2022, the College of Energy and Electronics and the Technical College – Kazanlak were transformed into
TECHNICAL COLLEGE – SOFIA, WITHIN THE STRUCTURE OF TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY – SOFIA.

The College of Energy and Electronics offers programs in the following fields of study:
- Energy;
- Electrical Power Engineering – Generation and Distribution;
- Applied Electronics and Computer Engineering;
- Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Students who successfully complete the three-year program earn a higher education degree with the educational qualification of “Professional Bachelor.”
