
The Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering is one of the first units of the FEE, established upon its creation. The Department is accredited in the professional field 5.2. "Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation" with a rating of "very good". It trains students in the specialties "Electrical Engineering - Production and Distribution" and "Applied Electronic and Computer Engineering" in two forms of study:
Upon completing the full course and passing state exams /theoretical and practical/, graduates receive higher education and the educational-qualificational degree "professional bachelor". They have the opportunity to continue their education in the next educational-qualificational degree – "master's" at TUS or at other higher education institutions.
The educational process at the department is fully supported by qualified lecturers and the necessary material base. The academic staff of the department includes one professor, five associate professors, three senior lecturers, one lecturer, and two instructors. They conduct the main part of lectures and exercises for specialized and advanced disciplines. For leading lecturers in general education and fundamental disciplines, highly qualified lecturers from TUS and from the other department of FEE are invited. Lecturers from the department are leading lecturers for students in specialties taught in the other department of FEE, as well as in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at TUS. The lecturers from the department are authors of numerous textbooks and study aids, monographs, and scientific publications in reputable domestic and international journals.
The department has its own updated laboratory base, /5th floor of Block 1 of TUS and Botevgrad Base/. It includes numerous laboratories and several computer rooms where the main part of laboratory exercises for the respective disciplines is conducted. Scientific research work is also carried out in these laboratories by the members of the department and doctoral students.
