Telecommunications is one of the most modern and rapidly developing fields of engineering and technology today. It is a field where huge investments are made and leading technology companies in the world operate, where unemployment is the lowest and there is a constant need for qualified personnel. The Faculty maintains close ties with leading Bulgarian telecommunications operators, as well as domestic and foreign companies in the field of information and communication technologies. Students at the Faculty are offered internship programs and scholarships, as well as various types of additional specialized training.

What are the admission requirements?

Bulgarian citizens and citizens of EU member states and the European Economic Area who hold a diploma of completed secondary education can apply for the specialty "Telecommunications" at the Technical University - Sofia.

Applications are submitted by submitting applicant documents and ranking by specialties. Only candidates who have successfully passed the competitive exams (tests) and/or the state maturity exams (maturities) in the subjects provided for the respective specialties participate in the ranking.

What will I learn?

Graduates of the Bachelor's program at the Faculty of Telecommunications receive a broad-based education in the field of telecommunications, possess the ability to enhance their knowledge and skills through self-study, have good language proficiency, are proficient in computer technologies, and maintain their qualifications at the level of contemporary requirements of the information society.

The Bachelor's level of study in telecommunications provides solid theoretical and practical training. Graduates of the specialization acquire competencies for:

Design and production of communication components and devices;
Engineering, operation, and technical support of complex systems and networks;
Maintenance and management of modern telecommunications infrastructure.

Students who have successfully completed the Bachelor's degree can continue their education to obtain a Master's degree in the same professional field.
