Telecommunications is one of the most modern and rapidly developing fields of engineering and technology today. It is an economic sector where huge investments are made and leading global technology companies operate. The sector has the lowest unemployment rate and a constant need for qualified personnel. The Faculty maintains close ties with leading Bulgarian telecommunications operators, as well as domestic and foreign companies in the field of information and communication technologies, which offer internship programs and scholarships to students. Various types of additional specialized training are offered.

Bulgarian citizens and citizens of EU member states and the European Economic Area who hold a diploma of completed secondary education can apply for students at the Technical University – Sofia in the specialty Telecommunications.

Applications are submitted by submitting applicant documents and ranking by specialties. Only candidates who have successfully passed the competitive exams (tests) and/or the state maturity exams (maturities) in the subjects provided for the respective specialties participate in the ranking.

 The graduate of the Faculty of Telecommunications has a broad-based education in the field of telecommunications, possesses the ability to improve their knowledge and skills through self-study, has good language culture, is proficient in computer technology, and maintains their preparation at the level of the modern requirements of the information society.

Obtaining a bachelor's degree in telecommunications is associated with acquiring knowledge and skills for working, designing, manufacturing, maintaining, operating, engineering, and technical support of communication components, nodes, devices, systems, and networks.

Graduates with a bachelor's degree can continue their education as masters in the same specialty.
