Important information regarding the mandatory training of first-year students in the subject "Foreign Language" for the 2025/2026 academic year!
GENERAL INFORMATION
All students who wish to study English must take a mandatory online placement test to determine their level before the start of the academic year (from 09.09.2025 to 22.09.2025).
Students wishing to study German, French, or Russian do not take a placement test but indicate their language choice during their first "Foreign Language" class in the weekly timetable (from 23.09.2025 to 01.10.2025).
Places in groups for the specified languages are limited and are filled in order of application.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEVEL PLACEMENT
The English language test aims to create homogeneous language groups, distinct from administrative ones, to facilitate students' English language learning at the appropriate level.
The test is conducted remotely on the TestPortal platform during the weeks preceding the start of the semester (from 09.09.2025 to 22.09.2025), at a time chosen by each student.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEST:
Duration: 30 min. after pressing the START button.
IMPORTANT: The system monitors the number of attempts to take the test – if there is more than one attempt, students are disqualified.
The level assessment test consists of 40 questions with 4 possible answers each. The correct answer is only one and is marked by clicking the checkbox next to it. You can leave a question unanswered and return to it later. You can also change your answer by moving freely forward and backward in the test. The time allowed for completing the test is 30 minutes. After the time expires, the test is automatically terminated.
ATTENTION: The system monitors whether you open other windows on your device while taking the test. If this happens, you receive a warning message for sanctioning.

Results will be announced in the building of the Department of Foreign Languages (Block 13, next to the OMV gas station) and can be checked after 13:30 on 23.09.2025 before the first class of "Foreign Language" in the weekly schedule.
