Section "English Language"

The Section is a unit of the Department of Foreign Language Training and Applied Linguistics and has the status of a university department. The governing body is the Section Council, which consists of all English language instructors and is chaired by the Section Head. The Head, together with the Department Director, oversees the organization and implementation of educational and methodological work, coordinates the Section's activities with the university's management bodies and faculties, as well as with all interested parties. The Head's activities are supported by one deputy and a person responsible for teaching load.

The instructors from the "English Language" Section are highly qualified philologists with pedagogical experience in foreign language training. They continuously enhance their qualifications and adapt their educational and methodological work to the specifics of the particular faculty specialties and the needs of the students they teach.

In connection with their scientific and teaching activities, the instructors from the Section successfully collaborate with similar sections, departments, and faculties from other Bulgarian and foreign universities, actively participating in training programs for teaching mobility in EU countries and presenting their developments related to modern foreign language teaching methodologies at national and international scientific forums. A significant part of the instructors' activities is also the preparation of educational materials and the publication of literature for specialized English language training, as well as the updating of foreign language curricula for academic purposes.

The work of The Section is supported by A specialized library for teaching English, established by the British Council, which has specialized teaching materials and aids for teaching English. It is available to all students and faculty, and based on the recommendations of the academic staff, the available collection is constantly updated.

English Language Section conducts specialized language training for students from all faculties throughout all years of the University, including English language lessons and lectures at the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management, the French Faculty of Electrical Engineering Education, and the Faculty of English Engineering Education.
