
The College in Sliven is the legal successor of the Institute of Practical Teachers established in 1960. By Council of Ministers Decree No. 16 of 27.01.1997, the Semi-Higher Institute of Practical Teachers was transformed into a College and became part of the Technical University - Sofia as a separate unit. The College - Sliven offers training in the following specialties:
Graduates who successfully complete the three-year course at the College obtain higher education - an educational and qualification degree of "professional bachelor" in the respective scientific field and the opportunity for professional qualification as a "teacher", while graduates of the specialty "Repair and Operation of Automotive Equipment" also obtain the qualification "instructor-driver trainer for motor vehicles".
Professional bachelors can continue their studies and obtain the educational and qualification degree of "bachelor" and "master" in the respective scientific field.
Graduates of the respective specialties are employed in the public and private sectors as managers and executors in the operation, installation, and repair-restoration activities, in industrial production, automotive companies, auto service stations, car dealerships, transport companies, in design and modeling offices, in grain processing, bakery, meat, dairy, and canning industries, and in the tourism and hospitality sector.
A large part of the College's graduates work as instructor-teachers for vehicle drivers throughout the country.
