Internships vary in duration – lasting from one to several months during the summer or a few hours per day. Summer internships can be full-time or part-time, depending on the company. Internships organized by some companies may even last two years, with the option to stay on after completion.

It can be paid or unpaid, depending on the organization. Most internship positions are associated with the signing of a civil contract.

Learn more about the job that interests you – what is the supply and demand for specialists in the labor market; which activities are most in demand. Review information in specialized publications and websites of industry organizations for your preferred sectors. Consult with career counselors at the university.

Company information – name, activity profile, coordinates, contact address
Internship position description and its location – duties and responsibilities related to the work, conditions – type of employment, contract;

Application rules for internship

When you decide to apply for an internship, carefully read the announcement and make sure you understand the requirements and meet them.
Application documents must be in order; properly formatted and free of spelling errors. Do not forget that your documents create the first impression of you. Almost always, a CV and a cover letter are required. Send the documents in the language in which the announcement is written. The career specialist is the one who will help you prepare your documents well.

European internships under the 'Erasmus' program

Bulgarian students have the opportunity through the Erasmus program to complete student internships in a European trading company, a research center, or another similar organization that is a partner of the Bulgarian university where the student is enrolled.

The goal of the mobility is to acquire specific practical skills for a period of 3 to 12 months within one academic year. The specific duration of the internship depends on the faculty's curriculum, the internal regulations of TU-Sofia, and the receiving enterprise. All selected candidates receive an Erasmus subsidy.
