Graduates with a Master's degree in "Project Management" can participate as members of project teams, coordinators, and project managers in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics, information technology, transport and infrastructure, in research projects, as well as in programs and projects funded by the EU, etc. These projects can be carried out by a single enterprise/organization - with commercial/non-profit purposes or by state/municipal administrations; on specific physical objects/sites, virtually - via the internet, or in a combined manner. Depending on their objectives, projects can range from the creation/implementation of a new product/software, through strategic reconstructions and solutions for the overall development of the organization, to projects and programs at the state/European level.

Admission of applicants to the "Project Management" specialization is carried out in accordance with the general requirements for student admission at the Technical University – Sofia.

Only persons who have a grade of at least "Good", calculated as the average of the grades from the subjects included in the curriculum of the bachelor's or master's program and the average of the grades from the state exams or the defense of the bachelor's or master's thesis, are eligible to apply.

SPECIALIZED PREPARATION

Masters in "Project Management" acquire specialized knowledge and skills related to the management of the following processes:

• Initiation and definition of the project; Project planning; Project execution; Project monitoring and control; Project closure;
• Specialized software for implementing and managing the five process groups. Future project managers also study specific methods and techniques for:
• Project scope management;
• Project time management;
• Project cost management;
• Project quality management;
• Project team management;
• Project communications and stakeholder management (Stakeholders);
• Project risk management;
• Procurement management.

GENERAL THEORETICAL PREPARATION

Masters in "Project Management" acquire general theoretical knowledge and skills related to:

• Basic economic principles for the competitiveness of an enterprise/organization and project proposals/solutions:
• Business planning and entrepreneurship;
• Investment projects:
• Behavioral issues in the management of human teams;
• European programs and projects and European cohesion policy;
• Legal aspects concerning the initiation, planning, and implementation of projects and tenders - within the territory of Bulgaria and internationally.

Future project managers must be able to apply the basic methods and mechanisms that will enable them to:

• Define the specific goal of the project and the resulting strategy for its implementation;
• Know how to present and justify the project, as well as to motivate the company's management for its implementation;
• Plan in time (Timing) and distribute the work (Tasking) for the implementation of the project;
• Select and plan the necessary resources (human, financial, material, equipment, etc.) and optimize their use;
• Control and update in "real-time" the execution and successful completion of the project.
