The main goal of the specialization is to build the foundation of general engineering education in the field of transport, to train specialists with higher education for the needs of road and rail transport, for the technical operation and maintenance of technical means, for the implementation of combined and intermodal transport, for the introduction of leading methods for the organization and management of transport, for solving complex logistics problems, for the research and forecasting of transport flows, for the establishment of a system of terminals and their equipment, etc.

The application and admission to the specialty are regulated by the Regulation on Admission of Students to the Technical University of Sofia.

It provides the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of road and rail transport. To enhance practical skills, the program includes obtaining a driver's license for motor vehicles and a train dispatcher qualification in the field of rail transport.

Graduates of the TUT specialization can successfully find employment in the structures of the state administration, all state and private enterprises involved in ground transport, logistics centers, forwarding companies, in units for research and production implementation activities, higher education institutions, etc.
