The training in the specialty "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" aims to prepare engineers in the field of ensuring and technical control of work equipment safety, occupational health and safety management, electrical and fire safety, and environmental protection of the working environment. The universal, broad-profile training provides greater flexibility and adaptability of engineers according to market needs.Graduates of the specialty "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" will perform managerial and operational activities in the field of ensuring and controlling work equipment safety and occupational safety, which are required for the successful participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Single European Market.Masters in Technical Safety of Work Equipment will be leaders in the country in knowledge and application of technical legislation requirements and conformity assessment in the design, maintenance, and operation of safe work equipment; application of engineering methods and tools for conducting technical supervision of high-hazard facilities and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation; analysis and protection from hazardous and harmful factors in the working environment that create conditions for occupational accidents and diseases; analysis and assessment of workplace risk and occupational safety management; organization, coordination, and control of activities to ensure healthy and safe working conditions.

Engineers who graduate from this master's program acquire solid foundational knowledge necessary for their future engineering activities and to ensure their required professional flexibility. The training process emphasizes ensuring the technical safety of high-hazard facilities and their technical supervision, the management of health and safety at work, the analysis and assessment of workplace risks, and the factors of the working environment, considered in the context of current technical legislation and applicable standards.

The specialization offers specializations in two master's programs:

"Occupational Safety";
"Working Environment Factors".

The master's specialization "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" is based on the experience and traditions in training engineering personnel at TU - Sofia. To ensure the completeness and scope of the offered master's program, a team of teachers from mechanical engineering, energy, and electrical engineering has been formed.

Graduates with an educational and qualification level of "Bachelor" or "Master" from all professional fields in the field of "Technical Sciences".

Graduates from fields outside the field of "Technical Sciences" undergo compensatory training.

The preparation of the master's program in the specialty "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" is built on the basis of the knowledge and skills acquired during bachelor's studies in the following groups of disciplines: fundamental; general engineering; specialized engineering; and humanities.

The engineer in the specialty "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" with an educational-qualificational degree of "master" must solve complex managerial and operational tasks. For this highly qualified activity, an interdisciplinary academic education is required, which covers knowledge in the following areas:

engineering sciences – design, research, implementation, and maintenance of work equipment, measuring instruments, metrological assurance, technical protection means, and work environment factors;
economic sciences – safety assessment, technical supervision, industrial engineering;
information sciences – information assurance, automation, and control;
social and legal sciences – technical legislation, standardization, and occupational safety.

Engineers who have graduated with a specialization in "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" are prepared to perform managerial and operational activities related to the successful participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Single European Market, in the following areas:
