Business Informatics (in German)

The training in the specialty "Business Informatics" aims to prepare highly qualified specialists with a broad-profile, interdisciplinary background, who can meet the multifaceted challenges of the development of information technologies in the Bulgarian market. These specialists must be able to perform both organizational and managerial activities, including the development, planning, and management of projects, as well as engineering activities, including the design and construction of hardware and the development of software. Due to their excellent language skills, it is expected that graduates will also serve as intermediaries in the many German-speaking companies that have established production facilities in Bulgaria in recent years.The specialty "Business Informatics" is built to a high European level, as in accordance with the agreement with the German Academic Exchange Service, the training is conducted according to the curricula of Otto von Guericke Universität (OvGU) Magdeburg. This is a condition for graduates to receive not only a diploma from TU-Sofia but also a German higher education diploma from the University of Magdeburg. The training is conducted entirely in German. The specialty "Business Informatics" belongs to professional field 5.13 General Engineering.In response to the high demands of the labor market, the need for the development of 21st-century competencies, as well as educational standards, the training in "Computer Systems and Technologies" covers a complex set of competencies - basic, technical, and professional. The training is conducted within 2325 hours of classroom and 4875 hours of extracurricular activities, with a duration of 7 semesters of study and 1 semester of diploma design. The set of elective disciplines creates the prerequisites for applying a personalized approach in training.

Why choose this specialty?

The training actively focuses on innovations in the educational process, practical training, and collaboration with organizations from practice. Lectures, seminars, and consultations for the development of a thesis are conducted by teachers from Germany and Bulgaria.

Upon successful completion of the training in Bulgaria, students receive a Bulgarian and a German diploma for "Bachelor in Business Informatics". The German diploma is issued by Otto von Guericke Universität (OvGU) Magdeburg.

What will I learn?

As a result of the training in the specialty "Economic Informatics", knowledge is acquired in the areas of: modern economic theories and models, and their application in the managerial practice of organizations | types of organizational-management structures, with regard to Bulgarian, European and world practice | development, planning and management of projects | implementation of modern information and communication technologies in various fields of human activity | computer system architectures, microprocessor technology, computer networks and communication systems | synthesis and analysis of algorithms; algorithmic, structural, object-oriented, component and functional programming; databases and information systems; operating systems; internet technologies; information security and information protection | higher mathematics, as a fundamental discipline. The training is conducted only in full-time and includes 32 mandatory, 12 elective and 10 optional courses.
