The Master's program "Computer and Software Engineering" is intended for students who have obtained the educational and qualification degree of "Bachelor" in the professional field "Communications and Computer Engineering". The training builds upon and deepens the acquired knowledge and practical skills, preparing students to formulate and solve modern engineering problems in a wide range of information technology fields. This gives them the opportunity to successfully realize themselves and be competitive in the dynamically developing IT labor market.Students acquire in-depth knowledge of modern trends in the development of computer and software engineering, as well as advanced practical skills, aligned with the requirements of the dynamic and competitive labor market. They are prepared to apply the acquired knowledge in various fields of engineering practice and information technology.The training aims to build upon and expand the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired at the "Bachelor" educational and qualification level, preparing students for successful professional realization and career development.

Computer systems and information technologies are among the most dynamic areas of development and play a key role in all spheres of modern society. The growing demand for highly qualified specialists makes the software industry one of the most promising sectors of the economy. According to a study by the Bulgarian Software Companies Association (BASCOM), nearly three times more IT specialists are needed for the sustainable development of the Bulgarian software industry.
Graduates of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Technologies are highly valued by employers and successfully find employment in a wide range of companies, enterprises, and institutions in the ICT sector and beyond, both in Bulgaria and abroad. According to data from the National Statistical Institute and the Employment Agency, over 98% of graduates find employment in their field and receive some of the highest incomes in the country.

What are the admission requirements?

Student admissions are conducted through a document-based competition, with ranking based on descending order of the competitive score. Candidates for state-funded and tuition-paying places compete in separate groups.
Formation of the competitive score (Maximum 100 points)

The ranking score is formed as the sum of the following components:

Bachelor's degree performance (Maximum 60 points): Calculated as the average grade from the Higher Education Level I diploma, multiplied by 10.
Thesis / State Exam (Maximum 12 points): The grade from the defense or exam is multiplied by 2.
Specialized subjects (Maximum 18 points): The sum of the grades for 3 specific subjects from previous studies, which are the same for all specializations and are determined by the Faculty Council.
Additional achievements (Maximum 10 points): Awarded at the discretion of the Faculty Council for participation in scientific conferences, publications, specific profile disciplines, or a specific completed university.

Submission of documents: At the office of the respective faculty, within one week before the start of the academic year.

For those who have completed an OKS "Bachelor" with a different specialization, a one-year study program under a compensatory curriculum is offered over two semesters (one academic year). The compensatory study is paid. After successfully completing the compensatory study, the student automatically continues their studies in the Master's degree program against payment.
