The "Industrial Robotics" specialization prepares highly qualified and specialized master's engineers with in-depth knowledge and solid practical training in the field of industrial robotics. The training of leading specialists in the field of process robotics, which is of key importance for all sectors of industrial production, involves expanding and deepening knowledge, practical skills, and practice in the field of mechanical engineering, electronics, and information technology, with an emphasis on industrial technologies, artificial intelligence, and intelligent information technologies. The training is aligned with the latest trends in educational and research programs of leading European and American universities, as well as with the available high-tech equipment at the Technical University of Sofia, and specifically at the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, in the field of industrial production and the application of ICT in fourth-generation industry. Students enrolled in the master's program acquire knowledge and skills for both production processes and industrial systems, which form the basis of modern innovative industrial robotics and collaborative and intelligent production, building upon classical industrial technologies. At the same time, competencies necessary for the development and implementation of intelligent robotic systems are also developed.

What are the admission requirements?

For the Master's program "Industrial Robotics", applicants must have completed a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree at TUS or at other universities in the country and abroad in specialties from all professional areas of higher education.

The fundamental training in the specialty "Industrial Robotics" is conducted during the first semester and involves expanding the spectrum of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and know-how in the specific field of industrial robotics in the context of the new requirements and trends of the modern industry. The preparation includes issues from the field of:

the fundamentals of robotics;
the specific requirements of production processes and technologies in the context of automation and robotics;
analysis, challenges, and solutions in the field of used drives, control, and sensorics; programming and automation of technological processes;
aspects of software provision and programming of robotic systems with Python and C++.

The specialized training includes the study of academic courses organized in modules of mandatory electives and elective disciplines. The main aspects of the training involve acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the specific areas of modern production, engineering, and technology, including those related to:

the specifics of machine and deep learning;
the design, scope, and application of expert systems;
the fundamentals and specifics of computer vision;
the applications of artificial intelligence in robotic systems;
the robotics of technological processes in casting;
the robotics of technological processes in welding;
approaches to the analysis, evaluation, and implementation of grippers and technological actuators;
concepts for the design and implementation of digital factories;
