Industrial Management

The Master's program in Industrial Management has a duration of 1 or 2 years (including the development and defense of a thesis) and is offered in full-time and part-time study modes, as well as in English.The one-year study program for the specialty is aimed at graduates with an educational and qualification degree of "Bachelor" or "Master" in the same specialty, in specialties from the field of higher education 5 "Technical Sciences", and in specialties from professional directions 3.4 "Social Activities", 3.5 "Public Communications and Information Sciences", 3.7 "Administration and Management", 3.8 "Economics", 4.5 "Mathematics", and 4.6 "Informatics and Computer Science".To meet the great interest in obtaining the professional qualification "Master in Industrial Management", the Faculty of Economics at TU-Sofia conducts a two-year study program for graduates with an educational and qualification degree of "Bachelor" and/or "Master" in other specialties. The two-year study program for the specialty is aimed at graduates with an educational and qualification degree of "Bachelor" or "Master" in specialties from professional directions 3.1 "Sociology, Anthropology and Cultural Sciences", 3.2 "Psychology", 3.3 "Political Science", 3.6 "Law", 3.9 "Tourism", and 4.1 "Physical Sciences", and fields of higher education 6 "Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine" and 9 "Security and Defense"

The main goal of the master's program is to prepare specialists with higher education and a master's degree, with enhanced training in the chosen functional area of management to meet the needs of the economy. The offered specialized master's programs are: "Marketing Management", "Production and Operations Management", and "Human Resource Management".

Application for the master's degree is based on a diploma of completed higher education.

In the master's program, knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor's course are enhanced with modern engineering-management concepts, technologies, and approaches; knowledge for making strategic decisions in a dynamic business environment is developed; abilities to design production and operational systems, as well as management and control systems for the execution of strategic and operational plans, are created; department and unit managers with communicative, analytical, and entrepreneurial skills in various functional areas of management are prepared.

Graduates with a master's degree in the specialty "Industrial Management" acquire competencies in the following areas:

Business process modeling;

Design of production and operational systems, as well as systems for their management;

Management of innovative organizational structures for technology transfer and support of small and medium-sized enterprises;
Project management and risk management;
Management of production, marketing, personnel, and quality.

Industrial Management graduates can work as: designers of production, operational and management systems; managers at middle and senior levels of enterprise and organization management; specialists in departments and units dealing with issues such as: production, marketing, personnel, etc.; experts who develop and implement innovations in company management.

Our students are very successful in their careers after completing their bachelor's and master's studies in the specialization "Industrial Management". They work as middle and senior-level managers in many enterprises, ministries, and agencies. Some of them successfully develop their own businesses, using the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies. A group of students continue their studies to obtain a "Doctor" degree in the doctoral programs of the Department of "Economics, Industrial Engineering and Management".
