The goal of training doctoral students in the doctoral program "ELECTROMEASURING ENGINEERING" in the Department of Electromeasuring Engineering“ (EME) is based on:the objectives that must be achieved in the training of doctoral students, which are:• improving the qualifications of the doctoral students being trained;• preparing them as highly qualified specialists for the industry;• shaping them as highly qualified teachers for higher education institutions;• their development into competent, knowledgeable, and capable scientists.Achieving these goals is possible through the successful resolution of the following Tasks:• compliance with legal requirements in education;• the education and counseling of doctoral students shall be carried out by habilitated lecturers with a high level of professional and scientific qualification;• continuous improvement and modernization of the material base in order to intensify the research process;• application of information technologies for searching, accumulating, and processing information and data;• maintaining a strong connection, close interaction, and responding to the growing interest of companies in the manufacturing and service sectors in scientific and applied developments related to the objects of the specialty.The main areas in which education is comprehensively developed are:- Methods and means for measuring electrical quantities;- Electronic measuring transducers and instruments;- Informational-measuring, distributed, and virtual measuring instruments;- Software support for measuring instruments;- Ensuring the metrological characteristics of measuring instruments during their design phase;- Planning the measurement experiment, collecting and processing measurement results;- Design of technical measuring instruments; modeling and analysis of measuring instruments;- Investigation and analysis of the metrological characteristics of measuring instruments; testing, verification, and calibration of measuring instruments;- Electromagnetic compatibility of measuring instruments;- Measuring instruments for non-electrical and magnetic quantities;In the FACULTY OF AUTOMATION as a TRAINING UNIT there are 12 specialized laboratories in "Electrical Measuring Technology", equipped with specific measuring equipment and specialized testers where doctoral students can be successfully trained in the doctoral program "ELECTRICAL MEASURING TECHNOLOGY". The research of doctoral students is carried out in laboratories for "Electrical Measurements" - 4, "Measuring Technology", "Measurement of non-electrical quantities", "Software support for measuring instruments and Electromagnetic compatibility of measuring instruments", "Metrology and quality control", "Information-measuring systems" and "Research Laboratory". Part of the research is also carried out in "Instruments and systems for measurement and control", "Environmental Engineering".TU - Sofia, Faculty of Automation is the educational institution in Bulgaria that can provide training for doctoral students in the doctoral program "ELECTRICAL MEASURING TECHNOLOGY", which should be in accordance with European requirements regarding the type of research:● theoretical and experimental;● with an engineering character.The topics on which doctoral students are trained in this program are current and are determined by the national priorities in the specific scientific research field, namely: methods and means for measuring electrical, non-electrical, and magnetic quantities, processing and metrological evaluation of measurement results.
