The need to apply electronics as a key technology in communications, automation, mechanical engineering, and the development of high technologies requires that the training of engineers provides the necessary skills to solve a wide range of engineering problems. The training enables students to acquire skills and competencies for carrying out design and research activities in various fields of science and production. This allows them to continue their education to obtain the educational and scientific degree of "Doctor".

The curriculum for the specialization "Design and Programming of Electronic Systems" for the Master's degree, full-time study, has a duration of 1 year, includes 60 ECTS credits, and is aimed at both graduates with a Bachelor's degree in the same specialization and students who have completed an educational-qualificational level of "Bachelor" and/or "Master" in specializations from the professional fields of higher education: 5.2. Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation; 5.3. Communication and Computer Engineering; specialization "Mechatronics" (PF 5.1 Mechanical Engineering) and specialization "Industrial Engineering" (PF 5.13 General Engineering).

The training in the specialty "Design and Programming of Electronic Systems", Master's degree, is aligned with the latest achievements in the field of the electronics industry, household appliances, communications, healthcare, etc. It is mainly carried out through specialized training, which includes training of students in various directions: circuit design and programming for embedded systems; system programming for embedded systems; acquiring knowledge in the field of artificial neural networks for information and information signal processing, designing systems based on learning and self-learning; acquiring knowledge in the field of internet-based medical systems for remote monitoring of vital physiological parameters, as well as knowledge of various distributed applications such as: intelligent systems for emergency response and control, mobile telemedicine systems, personalized healthcare systems.

Master's engineers who graduate from the specialty are employed as specialists in the development of electronic devices and systems, including embedded microprocessor systems with various applications - industrial and automotive electronics, medical equipment, IoT, etc. Graduates of the specialty are primarily employed by companies in the country's fastest-growing industrial area - "Thrift Economic Zone", leading companies in the electronics industry such as Sanmina Bulgaria EOOD, Sensata Technologies Bulgaria EOOD, OPTIX AD, BTL Industries AD, etc.
