The Bachelor's program "Digital Industrial Technologies" aims to prepare a new generation of mechanical engineers oriented towards Industry 4.0. The program is based on solid theoretical and fundamental knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering and digital technologies, based on the Industry 4.0 platform. The program graduates engineers with an in-depth fundamental training in the field of mechanical manufacturing processes and design technologies. This training includes knowledge and skills for working with modern computer technologies and industrial systems, as well as their application in various industrial sectors and the global digital economy.

Digital technologies are at the core of modern industry and manufacturing technologies. There is a strong growth in demand for specialists who possess in-depth knowledge in the field of information and digital technologies. These generally include:

methods, tools, and technologies for designing, modeling, simulating, and adapting software systems;
knowledge and skills for their integration with modern digitized production processes and technologies;
technological capabilities of modern production machines and equipment;
software and 'know-how' for 3D parametric and topological geometric modeling;
tools and methods of virtual engineering;
discrete simulation and internet technologies;
methods and tools for building computer and industrial networks and communications.

Graduates with a bachelor's degree will be able to continue their studies at the "master" educational and qualification level, while outstanding students from the specialty are sent on the "Erasmus+" program for training and preparing their thesis at leading European universities and on topics assigned by leading European and global companies. Technical University - Sofia maintains multilateral relations and partnerships with a number of foreign higher education institutions and many companies. Therefore, the training in the specialty is aligned with the latest achievements in the field of technology, as well as with the educational and research programs of leading European universities and companies in England, Germany, France, Italy, the USA, etc.

Successfully graduated specialists must:

be well acquainted with production processes and the associated digital technologies, methods for obtaining machine-building materials, machine components and products, and the technological capabilities of modern production machines and equipment;
be familiar with the tools and technologies of 3D parametric and topological modeling, virtual engineering, discrete simulation, and engineering analyses;
have knowledge of the development of machine-building products and technological processes, as well as their integration with information technologies, methods, and tools for processing information flows using computer technologies and industrial communications and networks;
have knowledge of managing engineering and engineering processes in a distributed environment;
have knowledge in the field of computer networks, industrial networks, and communications;
have knowledge in the field of programming languages, multimedia internet, and cloud technologies for solving specific machine-building and technological problems.

Graduates of the specialty will be able to work:

as technologists, designers, information managers, system administrators, developers of industrial software products and services, and developers of industrial networks in all areas of industry;
in enterprises in the field of mechanical engineering production, engineering firms in the field of industrial automation;
in the field of analysis, planning, and optimization of production;
