Doctoral students enrolled at state higher education institutions are exempt from paying tuition fees during the final two years of their doctoral programme.
Foreign doctoral students and postgraduate trainees whose course duration is less than one year pay reduced tuition fees, as determined by the higher education institutions in accordance with their regulations.
Semester tuition fees for students with dual citizenship, as provided for in Article 95(10) of the Higher Education Act, for ‘Bachelor’s’ and ‘Master’s (post-Bachelor’s)’ degrees shall be half the amount of the tuition fee payable by international students.
Annual tuition fees for doctoral students and postgraduate trainees with dual citizenship, pursuant to Article 95(10) of the Higher Education Act, shall be half the amount of the tuition fee payable by international students.
Students, doctoral students and postgraduate trainees from Member States of the European Union, or from a country party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, who have been admitted to a higher education institution, pay tuition fees at the rate applicable to Bulgarian citizens.
