In the memoirs about Prof. Sazdo Ivanov, one can read [1]:

"...During the period from 1953 to 1960, the following more significant changes took place at MTI: ...The necessary conditions were provided not only for conducting practical classes at a modern level, but also for carrying out scientific research. The Annual of MTI continued to be published regularly, in which primarily scientific works were published. Annual scientific sessions were held, where scientific research activities were reported..."

With its long history and respected traditions, a result of the activities of European and world-renowned scientists and university professors, the collection of scientific works "Annual of TU-Sofia" is representative of the scientific, applied research results, and achievements of the academic staff of TU-Sofia.

The collection unequivocally, prestigiously, and authoritatively demonstrates the leading role of the Technical University - Sofia in the field of higher education and university science in the country. It provides an opportunity for the dissemination and exchange of academic knowledge, contributing to increasing the effectiveness of scientific research.

The Bulgarian scientific journal "Annual of the Technical University - Sofia" with ISSN 1311-0829 has been included since 1990 in the global abstracting and database system of the world-renowned information centers STN (The Science & Technical Information Network), and since 2013 is in the group of scientific journals monitored by Scopus Elsevier for the purpose of its indexing in the group of significant periodical scientific publications and its evaluation with the SCImago Journal Rank indicator (SJR indicator - Scopus Impact Factor), which determines the impact that an article printed in it has on other periodicals. The "Annual of TU-Sofia" is published in the form of one or several booklets per volume, is published annually, and contains the scientific works presented during the previous year. It publishes the full scientific works of the teaching staff of TU-Sofia.

For the period 1991-2014, the collection has published a total of over 2500 articles. The requirements for articles proposed for publication are systematized in the Regulations for Publishing of the collection of scientific works "Annual of TU-Sofia".

The main languages of the "Annual of TU-Sofia" are Bulgarian and English, with a tendency towards a complete transition to the English language.

The "Annual of TU-Sofia" is published by an Editorial Board approved by the Rectorate, consisting of an Editor-in-Chief, a Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and members. The Editorial Board deals with all scientific, publishing, organizational, and technical issues related to the publication of the collection, approves the reviewers of the articles, and performs the scientific, stylistic, and linguistic editing of the submitted manuscripts.
