The "Textile Materials Science and Testing" Laboratory is equipped with instruments and devices for studying the properties of textile materials – microscopes (monocular and stereo) with varying magnification levels, digital cameras, and software products for capturing, processing, and measuring the objects under study; a moisture meter with automated data transfer to a computer and application software; instruments for measuring the geometric, structural, and mass characteristics of fibers, yarns, and fabric products. The laboratory is equipped with modern instruments for studying fluid transport in textile structures, determining the thickness and degree of compression of fabric products, the friction coefficient of threads, abrasion resistance, tendency to pilling, etc. A significant part of the instruments are connected to computers, on which specialized software for processing and visualizing results is installed. The laboratory also has software products for statistical data processing, modeling, and simulating objects and processes. A Wi-Fi network has been established. Students gain practical knowledge of working in a testing laboratory, as well as processing and analyzing the obtained results. The instruments and devices are used in teaching, diploma design, and scientific research by faculty members and doctoral students.
