The Scientific Research Laboratory "Simulation Modeling in Industry" was established in January 1992 under the TEMPUS JEP 2605 project as a faculty-level unit of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology. The head of the laboratory is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilario Lyubenov Astinov. He holds a master's degree in the specialty of mechanical engineering technology and a doctoral degree in discrete simulation modeling. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology at TU - Sofia. He has specialized in England, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and the USA. Guest lecturer in England and Germany.
The team includes faculty members and full-time collaborators from various specialties of TU-Sofia, and for the resolution of each specific task, students and external specialists from the country and abroad are involved.
