The goal of the “Student and Pupil Innovation Hub” competitions is to encourage students at the Technical University of Sofia and students from the university’s affiliated high schools:

to develop and build upon their potential;
to create innovations;
to be creative;
to become involved in the university's research activities;
to improve the relationship between faculty members and researchers at TU Sofia, as well as students and high school students;

Contest participants submit projects featuring original solutions to interdisciplinary problems in the field of engineering, combining knowledge and approaches from various scientific and engineering disciplines. The competition aims to encourage high school and college students to participate in science outreach forums, national and international competitions, and scientific conferences; to stimulate their drive to create innovations; and to motivate them to compete successfully with their peers in Bulgaria and around the world. In addition, the competition helps increase interest in higher technical education and in career opportunities in the fields of science, engineering, and innovation.

Participants are encouraged to develop projects that propose innovative approaches to solving technical and scientific challenges with the potential for practical application and subsequent protection as utility models or patents. In this way, the competition creates a supportive environment in which high school and college students can develop their creative potential, gain valuable practical and research experience, and contribute to scientific and technological progress by creating innovative solutions.
