
President Iliana Yotova honored Prof. Todorov with the high state award. At the official ceremony in the Hall of Arms, she emphasized that through his activities in science and practice, with his numerous scientific inquiries and his love for the engineering profession, Prof. Todorov has proven that scientific achievements, born in laboratories and taught in the lecture halls of students at the Technical University – Sofia, are not closed off nor left in the classrooms, but are transformed into technical knowledge directed entirely towards the industry and the economy of Bulgaria.

According to her, a large part of the students, the young people who attend the lectures of Prof. Georgi Todorov, copy his gestures, his intonation, want to be like him, and even young colleagues, teachers, imitate his style. There is no greater reward than this, for the young to believe in you and thus develop their knowledge, she concluded.

Prof. Todorov is the author and co-author of over 250 scientific papers, including 7 monographs and over 100 publications. Under his supervision, over 80 research projects and over 20 industrial projects with companies from various countries have been completed. He is the author of 82 inventions, with 26 of the patents having international registrations. He is listed as an inventor in the 'Golden Book of Discoverers and Inventors' of the Patent Office.

The Order 'St. St. Cyril and Methodius' - first degree is awarded for exceptional contributions to education and science and dedication in work. With his perseverance, devotion, and imagination, Prof. Todorov has proven that the high honor received from President Iliana Yotova is not only a sign of deserved respect, but also an inspiration for his future successes, as well as for the development of the Technical University – Sofia, a key driver of innovation, where scientific peaks are conquered in the field of technologies and the rapid development of engineering.

The Technical University – Sofia rightfully acknowledges Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Todorov, whose contribution to engineering sciences, technical education, and thought is inspiring.
