
The theme of this year's hackathon is "Technologies for Good: Impact on Local Communities".


Students from the Technical University – Sofia, the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, and the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Plovdiv University "St. Paisius Hilendarski" have registered to participate in the hackathon. The formed teams are assigned business cases from companies that are members of AmCham, and they will work on them for three weeks. At the end of the hackathon, the teams will present their solution to the business task before a special jury, and a winner will be selected. There are 17 practical cases assigned for work, and the teams will work with 29 mentors.


April 27, 2026, is the deadline for working on finding solutions to the assigned practical tasks. On April 28, the teams will present their achievements before a special jury, and on April 30, the award ceremony for the winners will take place.

Over ten companies, including "Enery", "Ring Central", "StorPool", "IBM", "Sensata Technologies", "Moto - Pfohe", "Syscom Engineering", "A1", "Parker", and "Curtis", are participating in this year's hackathon.

Corresponding Member Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Todorov, Chairman of the General Assembly of TU – Sofia and Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, stated that the Technical University – Sofia supports initiatives related to the education and career development of students who participate in real business projects. Business and universities have common goals and demonstrate that in business projects, the younger generation has knowledge, ideas, perseverance, and most importantly, support to accomplish tasks and fulfill their dreams in their future professional careers, noted Prof. Todorov.

The CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, Ivan Mihaylov, stated at the official ceremony in the high-tech hall "Tech Arena" at TU - Sofia, that over these three years of holding the hackathon, there has been an established tradition, progression, and symbiosis, with students and business working together successfully. According to him, this increases the competitiveness of the Bulgarian industry and confirms the practice of students, teachers, and business forming strong, working teams that enhance engineering thinking and develop the country's economy.

Many students, teachers, Prof. Dr. Rumen Trifonov, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Technologies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agata Manolova, Dean of the Faculty of Telecommunications, were present at the opening.
