For contributions to the education system, culture, and the French language, at a solemn ceremony at the Embassy of the French Republic, H.E. Eric Lebeudel, Ambassador of the country to Bulgaria, awarded (27.01.) the highest degree - Commander of the Order of Academic Palms to Prof. Dr. Ivan Momchev, long-time Dean of the Faculty of French Training in Electrical Engineering. This is his second award. The first was at the rank of knight.

It has over 30,000 members, including many foreigners from 75 countries.
