At the Technical University – Sofia, today, June 29, 2020, at 9:00 AM, the regular entrance examination in mathematics for admission to bachelor's programs was held simultaneously in Sofia, at the Plovdiv Branch, and at the IPF – Sliven. The examination was conducted in person and took place in strict compliance with the anti-epidemic measures introduced in the country. Candidates were required to wear protective masks and were admitted after having their temperature measured. Over 500 candidates took the exam.
In the presence of the Rector of TU – Sofia – Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, the Deputy Rector for Academic Activities and Accreditation – Prof. Dr. Eng. Lyubomir Dimitrov, and the Deputy Rector for Academic Staff and Coordination – Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, candidates Liliya Futekova from Panagyurishte and Petar Politov from Elešnica drew test variant No. 2. The Rector of TU – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, wished all candidates success and congratulated them on their choice to study at the leading higher technical university in the country.
Today, an entrance examination in drawing was also held at TU – Sofia. On June 30, 2020, examinations in composition and foreign languages – German, French, and English – will take place.
TU–Sofia was the first university in the country to conduct a remote entrance examination – on March 28, 2020, in mathematics. In April, two more remote preliminary examinations in mathematics and examinations in drawing, composition, and English followed.
Applicants with a Matura grade or a grade from a completed preliminary entrance examination have the opportunity to submit their documents by July 4, 2020, inclusive. Documents are accepted at TU-Sofia – Center for Information Resources, Block 2, at the Plovdiv Branch, IPF Sliven, and at regional centers and offices in all provincial towns, every day from 8:30 to 16:00. The application documents are:
1. Original diploma (the diploma is returned upon submission of the documents)
2. Copy of the diploma
3. Completed application form (obtained on-site or printed from the website).
The ranking of first-year students will be announced on 06.07.2020 - Stage I and on 13.07.2020 - Stage II. Enrollment of admitted students after Stage I will take place from 07.07. to 10.07.2020, and after Stage II from 14.07. to 17.07.2020.
At the Technical University – Sofia, which this year celebrates its 75th anniversary, over 120,000 engineers have graduated so far, and national and regional standards for higher technical education and scientific research are being established.
