The international conference is organized by the Faculty of Energy Machinery and is part of the "Science Days of TU - Sofia 2025". The thematic areas are:
- Renewable energy technologies;
- Fluid mechanics and thermodynamics in energy and the environment;
- Indoor air quality, thermal comfort, HVAC systems, and improving building efficiency;
- Hydraulic and pneumatic machines and equipment in energy and the environment;
- Nuclear technologies and thermal engineering in the context of ecology and sustainable development;
- Textile engineering and technologies in the context of ecology and sustainable development;
- Land, energy, and environmental protection.
- The conference has become a globally recognized platform for innovation in energy with a focus on environmental protection. The program includes plenary lectures, panels, workshops, and interactive sessions, and over 50 scientific papers will be presented and discussed.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Eng. Angel Terziev, opened the jubilee 30th conference with the words that it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Energy and with the 80th anniversary of the Technical University – Sofia. The main idea of the conference is to bring together researchers, developers, and scientists in the field of energy, as well as to provide a platform for young scientists to present their project activities, he added. Since 2002, the conference materials have been published in Scopus and Web of Science. Prof. Terziev thanked the sponsors, whose contribution makes the conference possible – not only financially, but also through their significant impact on scientific research in this field.

In his welcome address to participants and guests, the Rector of TU – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, stated that the conference is dedicated to building a more sustainable future, because the challenges of climate change and energy security require decisive action. This is the place where experts, researchers, innovators, and leaders will seek solutions, share knowledge, and stimulate progress in the field of renewable energy, he added. The goal is to accelerate the transition to clean energy, to generate new ideas, and to build a future based on sustainability, innovation, and progress through scientific research and shared experience.

Prof. Dr. Eng. Lidia Galbova, Deputy Rector for International Activities and Integration, highlighted in her welcome address that the conference is part of over 30 forums within the unique format "Days of Science" of the Technical University – Sofia. This format creates a platform for sharing the latest scientific achievements, for partnership with industry, and for young scientists to work together with established experts. Prof. Galbova pointed out that the Technical University – Sofia is the largest and oldest technical university in the country, and recently the Ministry of Education has declared it the fastest-growing university not only in Bulgaria but also internationally. Science and education go hand in hand and are at the core of the development of the university and the Bulgarian economy, because collaboration with industry is key both in preparing future engineers and in many research projects, she added.

After the opening, the main work began with the delivery of plenary reports. The conference continues tomorrow.
