The Rector of the Technical University - Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, congratulated the graduates and the management, teachers, and staff of the Faculty of Economics on the double celebration – the 35th anniversary and the awarding of diplomas to the latest graduating class. This diploma is your reward for the acquired knowledge and skills and for the achievements during your studies. The diploma will play the biggest role in your career realization, he said, employers highly value it because it is from the Technical University - Sofia. The Rector wished the graduates to continue their education in the next degrees, as well as good health, happiness, and to prove themselves as highly qualified specialists with whom the university and the faculty can be proud.
DecDean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Eng. Yordanka Angelova emphasized in her speech that this year the Faculty of Economics celebrates 35 years since its establishment – a significant and inspiring anniversary of its sustainable development, academic recognition, and social contribution, and today's graduates are an integral part of this landmark event. Your graduation is not only a personal success; it is a continuation of a story written for 35 years, with vision, hard work, and courage, she added. Over the years, the Faculty of Economics has established itself as one of the most prestigious, innovative, and dynamically developing faculties within the structure of the Technical University – Sofia.
The University plays a key role in the country's development as a leading research and educational center with a clear focus on applied research, innovation, and professional development. Within its 35-year history, the Faculty of Economics has consistently established its authority and has become an attractive center for students and doctoral candidates, both in Bulgaria and abroad.
The modern curricula, harmonized with European educational concepts, the integration of modern educational technologies, and partnerships with businesses, create an environment that prepares not just qualified specialists, but thinking, adaptable, and competitive individuals, stated the dean.
Thirty years ago, on March 11, 1996, the Faculty ceremoniously awarded diplomas to the first graduating class of the "Industrial Management" specialization. Today, you are the 30th graduating class of this specialization – a symbol of continuity, sustainability, and development. We proudly mark this current success as 298 bachelors and masters are graduating, and for the first time, students from three new master's specializations are completing their studies: "Advanced Management, in distance learning format", "Technological Entrepreneurship", and "Intellectual Property and Innovations".
Prof. Angelova concluded her speech by stating that students are the meaning and greatest pride of the faculty, not only as professionals but also as individuals. As they embark on a new long-term stage of life, she wished them success in their careers.
The valedictorian of the graduating class, Desislava Borisova, also congratulated her colleagues, and then the graduates took the Galilean oath.
The ceremony continued with the awarding of diplomas, with the top graduates receiving theirs from the rector, Prof. Venkov.
