Students, doctoral students, and faculty members from the "Design and Technologies for Clothing and Textiles" specialization at the Faculty of Energy Engineering congratulated their university colleagues on the Student Day, December 8th, with the magnificent exhibition "STO: Capital, Textile, Clothing". The exposition includes 100 photographs that present textiles and clothing in everyday life and on the streets of Sofia. From creative experiments to everyday looks and textile products in buildings and transport vehicles, these images provide a unique insight into the city's fashion culture.
The exhibition is part of a project funded by the Research Sector of TU - Sofia, led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Radostina Angelova.
The "Design and Technologies for Clothing and Textiles" specialization is one of the oldest at TU - Sofia, established in 1952 with the creation of the "Textile Engineering" department. Over its more than 70-year history, the specialization has produced thousands of textile engineers. It has a continuously updated material base, specialized software products for designing textile products and clothing. In the new curriculum of the specialization, in addition to classical disciplines for studying textile technologies, modern disciplines such as materials science and metrology, technical textiles, smart textiles, CAD/CAM management systems, 3D clothing design, multimedia technologies, and intercultural competence have been included.
The exhibition can be viewed until January 6, 2024, in the lobby of Block 2.
