
Over 60 innovative technological developments were demonstrated by 100 students from grades 8 to 12 of the Technological University "Electronic Systems" (TUES) at the Technical University – Sofia at the first virtual exhibition of student projects TUES Fest, which took place on June 6, 2020. The online festival was organized by 11th-grade students, united by the idea of presenting the school and providing a platform for their classmates' talents to shine, regardless of the COVID-19 restrictions, attracting over 2200 visitors. The award in the "Computer Networks" category was won by the project Cyber Range - a virtual environment for cybersecurity training, simulating the complex infrastructure of an IT organization. The project was developed as a diploma thesis by Andrea Petrenko (12 a), Boris Dermendzhiev (12 g), Vasil Angelov (12 g), and Kristian Bozhinov (12 g). The winner in the "Software" category was the RPG game Avija, set in the Middle Ages, created by 12th grader Georgi Demirev (12 b). The project was also awarded a special prize from the company Dopamine. The best project in the "Embedded Systems and Robotics" category, as voted by visitors, was a prototype of a cocktail-making machine, created by Petar Nikolov and Valeri Dobrev from class 12 b. A total of 18 projects were also awarded. The award ceremony also took place online and was broadcast live on the TUES Fest 2020 website.
