
H.E. Dashjamts Batsaikhan, Ambassador of Mongolia to Bulgaria, was a guest at the first working meeting (8.02.) of the Euro-Mongolian Cooperation for Modernisation of Engineering Education project under the Erasmus+ programme. He congratulated the project participants and emphasized his great satisfaction that the connections between the three Mongolian universities, TU – Sofia, and universities from Germany, France, and Italy will give a new impetus to the modernization of engineering education, scientific and applied research, and technological innovations in the field of electronics, energy, renewable energy sources, and IT technologies. He confirmed that the high-quality and adaptive training at TU is well known to the Mongolian academic community. The meeting was attended by H.E. Prof. Dr. Lkhamsuren Dugarjav, the former Ambassador of Mongolia and a friend of TU, Rector Prof. Dr. Gergi Mihov, and Prof. Ivan Yachev, Director of the Directorate for "International Exchange and Integration".
The international project is 3 years long, with a value of 1 million BGN, coordinated by Prof. Slavka Tsanova, TU – Sofia, and partners: National University of Mongolia, National Technical University of Mongolia, Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Technical University of Berlin, French institute in renewable energies – INES, and Politecnico di Torino. The goal of the cooperation is the transfer of knowledge between higher education institutions in the EU and Mongolia for the modernization of existing academic programs in the field of electrical engineering, the creation of new e-learning courses, and the discussion and implementation of results in practice.
Increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of European higher education, on the basis of which mobility of personnel is to be achieved, is a main goal of the Bologna Process. The development of global partnerships with educational institutions on a worldwide scale improves the quality of education, teaching, and research and significantly contributes to the experience of teachers and students.
