We are proud to announce that the EUt+ initiative has been selected by the European Commission!
The implementation of the future project - the European Technological University EUt+ is the result of the alliance of eight European partners who share common values:
- the vision 'Think first about the person' fully person-oriented and the approach to modern technologies;
- the ambition to create a new type of institution on a confederal basis.
Through EUt+, partners commit to creating a sustainable future for students and learners in European countries, for the staff of each of these institutions, and for the territories and regions where each campus is located.
The eight members of the EUt+ alliance are:
- Technical University - Sofia (Bulgaria)
- Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus)
- Troia University of Technology (France)
- Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
- Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland)
- Riga Technical University (Latvia)
- Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania)
- Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain)
What is a European University - EUt+?
European Universities are transnational alliances that will become universities of the future by promoting European values, identity, and above all, a revolution in the quality and competitiveness of European higher education. The Technical University - Sofia received the invitation to participate on February 26, 2020. This is one of the leading EU initiatives for building a European Education Area.
EUt+ in a few numbers:
- ·8 members
- 8 countries
- 8 campuses
- 100,000 students
- 1 degree
- 1 university
EUt+ leverages the strengths of each of its partners to create the technological university of the future. The European Technological University EUt+ is built around a shared vision, with the central pillar "Think Human First," from which the following principles are derived:
Technology is primarily for enhancing human capabilities
Technology is more than a set of techniques or applied sciences. It develops the fundamental human ability to express, think, and understand the world through artifacts. In this sense, it is the engine of human progress, where arts and science meet. Humanities are at the core of the EUt+ curriculum, to shape engineers and technicians who are aware of global issues and are highly technologically responsible citizens.
Diversity and multilingualism as an opportunity
EUt+ aims to ensure that every student feels at home in all the union's campuses and can move freely from one country to another. Technologies will enable initial exposure to a multicultural environment, allowing psychological, economic, and physical barriers to be overcome for each student.
An inclusive university
Based on the principles of justice, respect for human rights, and European citizenship, EUt+ is committed to providing every student with the resources to meet the necessary knowledge requirements and realize their potential in the European campuses.
EUt+ Academy
The education at the European University of Technology EUt+ will be a decisive and important experience in the lives of all students and learners. It will provide the practical and theoretical foundations necessary for navigating a complex and changing environment:
- a recognized qualification for the labor market
- a European network of peers
- intellectual and cultural curiosity
- openness and civic values.
8 campuses, 1 university, 1 diploma
The European Inter-campus degree in Engineering and the joint study program are under development and form the foundation of EUt+. Harmonization will be implemented gradually at all levels (bachelor, master, doctorate) and will cover all fields of study: networks and telecommunications, mechanical engineering, information systems, sustainable development, architecture ...
A common laboratory for pedagogical research and training, fully focused on students.
ELaRa - "European Laboratory for Research in Educational Actions and Learning, aimed at students", develops pedagogies based on a community of practice and knowledge.
EUt+ is conceived as a unified FabLab for preparing students for the great challenges of the future.
Shared project-based learning platforms
In addition to physical mobility, virtual mobility is a key aspect of the EUt+ curriculum through:
- integration of online modules for students, allowing them to benefit from ECTS credits;
- TELANTO, a network platform for students and teachers to form European teams capable of meeting the challenges proposed by companies;
- the implementation of a data education center at the moment, which will be introduced on a European scale, dedicated to the study of cloud computing and networking.
The eight partners of the European Technological University, EUt+, have agreed on a common identifier that will be visible on European student cards at every campus.
The implementation of this card will begin at the start of the new academic year, in September 2020.
