Based on an order of the Minister of Health, with the aim of limiting the danger of spreading COVID-19 (coronavirus), as well as in connection with a decision of the Academic Council of the Technical University – Sofia dated 09.03.2020, the Rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, ordered the suspension of in-person classes (including at the Technological College of Electronic Systems in Sofia and the Professional High School of Computer Systems and Technologies in Pravets) from 10.03.2020 to 15.03.2020, with the exception of already scheduled state exams, thesis defenses, and public dissertation defenses, in cases where postponement is not possible. Missed classes will be made up after their resumption and an update of the academic schedule. All mass events held at TU-Sofia, including conferences, discussions, public lectures, performances, cultural events, sports events, as well as councils and meetings of all units, are suspended. Events whose postponement is not possible are held after written approval by the Rector's administration. It is recommended to postpone planned mass events for a period no earlier than the end of April. At the same time, online submission of applications for taking exams in the candidate student sessions continues. The candidate student campaign continues according to the announced schedule, unless the epidemiological situation and recommendations of the National Operational Headquarters necessitate a change. The Rector's order recommends a 14-day quarantine period for all members of the academic staff, employees, doctoral students, and students returning from abroad, as well as for foreign teachers, researchers, and students arriving from abroad.
