„"We are creating the future, the technical elite of nations, who will turn dreams into reality," said the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, at the opening of the international exhibition. On the Bulgarian side, it was officially presented by the Minister of Finance Asen Vasilev, the Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov, and the Minister of Tourism Zaritsa Dinkova, while on the Greek side, the Minister of National Economy and Finance Konstantinos Hadzidakis addressed greetings to the Bulgarian ministers and participants.
The three Bulgarian ministers specifically focused on the pavilion of the Technical University – Sofia, where Prof. Králov spoke about the university's scientific innovations, prospects, and active research activities.
"It is no coincidence that the Technical University – Sofia is the only university present at this event; it is the largest and most important in the region, has extensive international activities, and these activities continue to develop and expand. We will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation and future mutual actions with the National Technical University of Athens, the largest technical university in Greece, and this is a natural continuation of our ties with Greek researchers," emphasized the Rector of TU – Sofia. He noted that the Technical University – Sofia is not only well-known in Europe and around the world but is also already part of the European alliance called the European Technological University EUt+. The International Technical Exhibition in Thessaloniki is a suitable place where we can present our vision of building a technical university for future generations, a university that transcends the borders of Bulgaria and prepares specialists in engineering fields, the next generation that will define and develop engineering specialties, and new services that will benefit society, people, business, and regions. There is no area of human development that does not involve engineering activity. Through our connections with our colleagues, we show what we can do and what we want to achieve. The place of the Technical University – Sofia at such international exhibitions is extremely important for moving forward and glorifying Bulgarian engineering science in a dynamic era of competition and rapid technological development," concluded Prof. Králov.
