
On 23.05.2024, at a ceremonial event, German diplomas were awarded to bachelor graduates of the specialization "Computer Systems and Technologies (in German)" from the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management, graduating class of 2023.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, Deputy Rector for Academic Activities, Accreditation and Academic Staff, Mr. Moritz Sailer, Head of the "Economy" Department at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bulgaria, Prof. Dr. Eng. Marin Marinov, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Eng. Stefan Stefanov, long-time Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Velko Ilchev, Deputy Dean, Senior Assistant Dr. Eng. Boris Kirov, Assistant Dean, Dr. Mitko Vasilev, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FGEIM, and Mrs. Yola Luga, Manager at "Musala Soft" EAD, a partner of the faculty.
The ceremony was opened by the Dean of FGEIM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Marin Marinov, who stated that he was particularly proud of the achievements of the students who had earned German diplomas, having studied at one of the leading faculties of TU - Sofia. He thanked the Embassy of Germany and DAAD for their support, as well as the university management.
Prof. Georgi Venkov congratulated the graduates, saying that it was a great honor for him to be there on this bright academic holiday. "On this day, you will receive your German bachelor's diplomas, which are a reward for the qualities you have shown and your proven knowledge and skills. But they are also a reward for us, your teachers, for having done our job well. You now have two diplomas, one from the Technical University - Sofia, the leading technical university in the country and the region, and one from our long-term partner, the Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg. These diplomas will play a decisive role in your future life and professional realization; I am sure that employers will highly appreciate this fact. I hope that today's holiday will not be a day of parting. I want to assure you that the doors of the Technical University - Sofia and, in particular, the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management will always remain open to you; do not lose contact with each other and with the university. Become highly qualified, outstanding specialists with whom the Technical University - Sofia can be proud, create strong families, and raise your children in the academic spirit in which we have educated you!"
Mr. Moritz Sailer congratulated the graduates on behalf of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bulgaria, Mrs. Irene Planck, and on his own behalf, expressing satisfaction that young people from Bulgaria are ambitious to study in German and earn a diploma from a German university, thus embodying the European idea of common values and goals. "Germany is the most important trade partner of Bulgaria; German employers, both in Bulgaria and in Germany, rely precisely on such highly qualified specialists to continue the upward trend in the development of economic relations between the two countries," added Mr. Sailer.
Mrs. Yola Luga, manager at Musala Soft EAD, congratulated the graduates on behalf of the company's management and presented them with subject awards.
Then, Mr. Moritz Sailer presented the diplomas to the happy graduates.
