
At a ceremonial event held on 13.12.2024 at the "Stefan Kirov" Drama Theatre in Sliven, 403 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy and the College - Sliven of the Technical University - Sofia received their higher education diplomas.
The ceremony was attended by students, faculty, and staff from the FEP and College-Sliven, many guests, relatives, and friends of the 2024 graduating class.
Guests at the event included Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov - Rector of the Technical University - Sofia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Elitsa Gieva - Deputy Rector for Scientific and Applied Activities, Dr. Pepa Chilikova - Deputy Mayor for "Humanitarian Activities" of the Municipality of Sliven, Ms. Fatme Mustafova - Deputy Regional Governor, Ms. Lidia Dimitrova - Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Education, Science, Culture, and Denominations of the Sliven Municipal Council, and Ms. Dina Dimitrova - Senior Expert for Pre-school Education at the Regional Educational Inspectorate - Sliven.

Representatives of the business community were also present at the ceremony: Ms. Svetla Kodjabasheva – Member of the Board of Directors of "E. Miroliao" EAD – Sliven, Eng. Vladimir Chuchumishev – Head of the "Education, Qualification, and Career Development" Department at "Arsenal" AD – Kazanlak, Ms. Daniela Koleva – Specialist "Career and Development", and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Plamen Ugrinov - Organizer of training and practical classes at the Technical College - Kazanlak in the specialty "Machine Building Technology".
The ceremonial event began with the performance of the student anthem, followed by a solemn ritual of welcoming the representative flag of the "Faculty and College – Sliven" and the performance of the anthem of the Technical University - Sofia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Mina Tsoneva welcomed those present in the hall and introduced the official guests and hosts of the event. The ceremony was opened in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanio Ivanov – Head of the "Faculty and College-Sliven" of the Technical University - Sofia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Niven Krastev – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy – Sliven, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Violeta Raykova – Director of the College – Sliven, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Margarita Tenеva – Director of the Department for Qualification and Professional Development of Teachers – Sliven.
On behalf of the Academic Leadership of the Technical University - Sofia and in his own name, Rector Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov congratulated the graduates and all attendees of the ceremonial event. In his welcome address, he addressed the graduates with the words: "I am extremely pleased to congratulate all of you, young colleagues, on your graduation. From today, you are officially part of the technical elite of the nation. Be proud and bear the engineering title with dignity!" The Rector encouraged the students to continue developing, to learn, and to pass on their knowledge to others, to strive to apply what they have learned for good, for prosperity, and for the benefit of society.
Prof. Králov expressed special thanks to the companies and businesses, to the representatives of the local and executive authorities for their empathy and assistance in achieving the university's goals of modern education and scientific research, emphasizing the importance of this support. To all those present, Prof. Králov wished health and many successes in their personal and professional lives. "Let us continue to develop and work for the prosperity of society and the well-being of nations. I wish you good luck and many years," the rector added.

The event was honored by Deputy Mayor Pepa Chilikova, who congratulated the management, the academic council, the graduates, and their loved ones. On behalf of Mayor Stefan Radev, she delivered a congratulatory address. In it, the mayor emphasized the essential role of education and congratulated everyone involved in the educational process. "Admiration for the unified structure of the Technical University – Sofia in Sliven for following its unchanging tradition of preparing qualified experts and professionals who meet the highest requirements and standards," the mayor wrote further. To the graduates and all students, Radev wished to pursue their dreams, to step out of their comfort zones, to surpass boundaries, and to never stop trying. To learn, to give their best, and to strive to live fully.

Deputy Governor Fatme Mustafova presented a greeting and delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of Governor Chavdar Bozhurski. "I am convinced that the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your studies will help you cope with all challenges. Believe in your strength and never stop developing! Be useful to yourself and your loved ones, but also to the entire society! Wherever your professional career takes you in the world, do not forget your homeland and your university! I wish everyone health, happiness, and many successes in their career and personal life! Good luck!" – reads the congratulatory message from Governor Chavdar Bozhurski.

Before receiving their diplomas for higher education, the graduates took the Galilean Oath, which was read by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanyo Ivanov. All graduates solemnly swore to preserve the name of the Technical University – Sofia, to honorably defend their professional training, to use their scientific knowledge solely for good, for progress, for the humanization of the world, to be loyal to their people, and to contribute with their labor to a better future for their country, to be worthy citizens of their Fatherland.
The solemn ceremony continued with the official handing over of the diplomas. The top students of the graduating class were the first to receive their diplomas. They were awarded medals, certificates, and monetary prizes by the Academic Leadership of TU – Sofia for outstanding academic achievement. A total of 7 gold and 7 silver medals were awarded at the solemn ceremony. The Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Kralov, presented the diplomas to the top graduates of the class of 2024, who were awarded a gold medal and a certificate from TU-Sofia.

Deputy Mayor Dr. Pepa Chilikova presented the diplomas to the graduates of the class of 2024, who were awarded a silver medal and a certificate from TU – Sofia.
For another year, the traditional awards for high academic achievements, established by businessman Edoardo Miroglio, were also presented. On his behalf, Mrs. Svetla Kojabasheva congratulated the graduates and presented certificates and monetary awards to professional bachelors Pepa Hristova Slavova, Svetlana Evtimova Kovacheva, and Fatmegul Yuseinova Ahmedova, who graduated with a degree in "Technologies, Design and Management of the Fashion Industry" at the College-Slivin.
The leadership of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy and the College-Slivin, department heads, and habilitated professors, along with representatives of state institutions and business, officially presented higher education diplomas to 56 professional bachelors, 86 bachelors, and 261 masters from the FEP and College-Slivin.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional hat-tossing and many photos that captured the exciting moments of the graduation of the class of 2024 from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy and the College-Slivin of the Technical University – Sofia.
