
After winning the local qualifiers of TIMES, the largest European competition for solving case studies on real-world problems for students in industrial engineering and management, Denitsa Simeonova, Viktor Pulis, and Tsvetan Asenov, bachelor's students from FAIM, secured another victory. The team, which was the sole representative of a university from the Balkans, won second place (04. – 08. 03., Lyon, France). The engineering competition pitted ten teams of European students against each other: Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Turkey, Switzerland, and Bulgaria.
In the semifinals of TIMES, the Bulgarian team solved two cases – one related to the global development of Starbucks, and the second concerning the food delivery logistics network in India – Dabawallah. The team's successful and innovative solutions earned them a successful ranking – one point behind the winner, the team from Seville, Spain. In the top 3, a few points behind the Bulgarian team, is the team from the Turkish university Istanbul Technical University (ITU).
