The second-year student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Tihomir Girmenliev, with his project BulTrain, will represent the Technical University – Sofia in the final stage of Incubation Program 2 of EUt+ in Dublin. The final is part of EUt+ Dublin Week between June 29 and July 3, 2026.
Incubation Program 2 is an initiative within the European University Alliance (EUt+), aimed at supporting students and young innovators in turning their ideas into sustainable startups and practically applicable solutions.
The incubation program encourages the development of interdisciplinary and socially significant ideas with potential for real-world application, sustainability, and future development.
Such is the BulTrain project by the student of "Informatics and Software Science" Tihomir Girmenliev. BulTrain is an intelligent mobility ecosystem aimed at modernizing rail transport in Bulgaria and Europe. The project has already received recognition for its social contribution and was nominated for the BAIT Awards 2025.

With its combination of digital technologies, accessibility, and sustainable transport solutions, BulTrain is an example of how student innovations can contribute to the development of a smarter and more connected public infrastructure.
