
The partnership agreement was signed by the Rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, and the Executive Director of "LUFTHANZA TECHNIK SOFIA", Preslav Milchev.

The leading German aviation company will accept students from priority majors at the university for educational practice and internships, and will also award scholarships to students and doctoral candidates.
The agreement provides for the inclusion of specific elements in the curricula that are important for Lufthansa's operations.
Both parties will cooperate in developing a mentoring program for training students in aviation majors and for continuing education of employees sent by the company, with Lufthansa ensuring the participation of its staff in lectures and practical sessions for students. The aviation company commits to involving students in its projects and providing information about available internship or permanent positions suitable for future aviation engineers.

The aviation industry is one of the most dynamic and requires qualified personnel. TU-Sofia is precisely the university that prepares highly qualified personnel for the aviation sector. Majors such as "Aviation Technology and Engineering" and "Aviation Engineering" are among the strongest and have the highest success rates at the university. The Executive Director of "Lufthansa Technik Sofia" is also an alumnus of the Technical University – Sofia. In this regard, Rector Prof. Venkov emphasized to him how important it is for the company to send its specialists to the university to inspire students from their first year.
"Lufthansa Technik" is a global leader in technical maintenance, and its base in Bulgaria also serves several other bases in Europe. From 230 employees at the start of the company's operations in Bulgaria, it currently employs 1,500 engineers, mechanics, and logistics specialists.
