The NATO internship program offers six-month internships to young people with demonstrated interests in various fields. Candidates must be students who have reached the age of 21 or recent graduates (within the last 12 months).
Suitable candidates are students from majors such as political science, international relations and those studying disciplines related to security, or economics, finance, or human resources. The internship program can also include candidates studying information technology, web or graphic design, library science or translation. Interesting opportunities are also available for students in aviation and engineering sciences, media and journalism.
The program includes two types of internships: through NATO funding (NATO-funded) and through a grant/scholarship from an academic institution, which covers the entire internship period (NATO-GRANT). The internship lasts 6 months.
The program has four main objectives:
- to provide access to the latest theoretical and technical knowledge through various practical tasks.
- to give interns the opportunity to learn from the NATO community and gain a better understanding of the Organization.
- to contribute to the creation of a more diverse workforce.
- to expand understanding of NATO in member countries.
