"European Technological University" (EUt+) is facing decisive weeks: next year, the European Commission will decide which university alliances will continue to be funded under the "European Universities Initiative". Therefore, two years after the launch of the initiative, EUt+ is taking stock and working at full speed on applying for the second phase of funding, which will take place in January 2023.
From November 21st to 25th, 2022, the eight partner universities are taking new steps towards joint degrees, among other topics. Around 100 participants are attending the working meetings, seminars, and panels.
In a very short time, EUt+ has established five European-level research centers – a breakthrough on the European university map – and is preparing several programs for joint degrees. By establishing a strong brand and external communication, EUt+ has succeeded in making the initiative well-recognized by stakeholders. In addition to numerous joint projects in the field of research and education, there are other achievements, namely the initiation of cooperation with leading institutions such as FAIR/GSI and the European Space Agency (ESA).
In Darmstadt, the newly created Education Committee, consisting of the responsible vice-presidents and deputy rectors of the partners, is continuing to work on the planned joint degree programs, among other tasks. The Governing Committee is working on the application for the next phase of funding.
Participants will also discuss the upcoming steps for establishing a joint sustainability office, which is a declared goal of the eight partner universities.
